2009/27 POLICE UPDATE

2009/28 Selby DC update – reported by Cllr John and Carol Mackman

  1. There is now free over 60’s swimming at Selby Leisure Centre and this will run for 2 years.

  2. Concession of Bus and Rail. Very little change to this. There is a discounted Rail card for the over 60’s which allows you to travel all over the country. These can be accessed through Carol.

  3. New Street Scene contract for 2009 has been awarded to Enterprise from the 1st October. There is an alternative bin collection service. This will mean your bins are empty once a fortnight but you will be given an additional box for plastic collection. They have to try and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill because there are no landfill site’s available.

  4. 4. Windfarm applications. Wakefield/Darrington – refused by Planning Committee – site in greenbelt. Leeds/Hook Moor – not been determined yet, still in the system. Two in Selby District – one between Thorpe Willoughby and Hambleton and one between West Haddlesey and Birkin still pending applications.

  5. LDF update. Consultation Nov, Dec and Jan all responses are in. They won’t be allowed to include completed properties in figures. They need to re-look at how they categories villages re flood risk etc.

  6. A New Hospital and Civic Centre at Selby is to go to Planning. It will be a big improve. Still the same size but better facilities. Hospital will be completed June 2011.
