7.30 – just before AGM – Co-option of New Councillors.
The PC has now been informed by SDC that they can co-opt new Councillors. The PC as one interested party, Nick Pratt. After discussion Councillor Watson proposed to co-opt Nick onto the Council, seconded Cllr Callan, All agreed.
2010/53 MINUTES
The minutes of the Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council held on 18th May 2010 had been circulated along with the Notice of Meeting. Proposed Cllr Coy seconded Cllr Callan – all agreed.
2010/54 NYCC update
Newthorpe Parish Council may be disbanding. They will be having a meeting shortly to discuss.
Area 7 Committee – Footpath for South Milford discussed.
Cllr Jordan as now got is own Web site.
MP Nigel Adams as offices in Tadcaster and can be contacted on 01937 838088
MP Nigel Adams and Mark Crane of SDC meeting tomorrow with Eric Pickles- Local Government Minister to discuss the Gypsy’s in the area.
Jag – one more meeting.
Drainage Board to revamp.
A meeting was held with Cllr Forte, Dave Bowes NYCC, Cllr Jordan and Cllr Hobman – later in the meeting.
2010/55 SDC update – Cllr Carol Mackman
Community Centre Review. There will be a consultation in July, at moment trying to sort a date out. I expect this to be open meeting and will be at Grove House so more details to follow.
Wakefield Wind Farm. Due to Ministerial changes decision is now due end of June.
Gypsy and Traveller Sites. Cllr Carol Mackman attended Hillam appeal last week. SDC could not establish where they came from so would expect at least temporary PP, SDC say they will have new sites ready by early next year so if temporary hopeful just for 12 months. Gypsy and traveller’s represented himself and said would not go to either of these 2 sites. Cllr Carol Mackman is at moment liaising with MFPC to arrange public meeting, probably at MF School and will be a Thurs Fri early evening or sat morning. Nigel Adams has agreed to come.
2010/56 Matters arising
Akita problem – Clerk to invite the Dog Warden, Mr Bill Parker and the Police along to the next meeting.
Sherburn Aero Club – Cllr Pratt and Haley to arrange a date to go along to Club.
Quotation received for the repair of the wall in Lumby on the village green - £250.00 plus VAT from A. Maltby Construction Services. Proposed Cllr Hobman, seconded Cllr Jackson – all agreed.
2010/57 New Matters
Grit Bins – next meeting.
Headed paper and compliment slips – we are running out of the current style and maybe need a revamp! Cllr Watson to look into and report back.
2010/58 Ongoing Matters
Flooding
Cllr Hobman updated the new members on the consultant and village situation. We are waiting for a date for a meeting with Yorkshire Water. Cllr Hobman to get in touch with MP Nigel Adams.
b) A63 – John Fort of Vice chair of NYCC, Dave Bowe of NYCC, Cllr’s Carol Mackman, Jordan and Hobman all meet starting at the roundabout on the A1M moving along the A63 through Lumby on Butts Lane – showing him the state of the road due to using as a rat run. Something needs to be done. Mr Bowe to write letter to SMPC making comments.
C) Minerals and Waste – Peter Torrible and Chris Bailham of Land and Development Practice acting on our behalf as this re-opens.
d) Town Quarry
Cllr Coy reported that the Parish own the land in the Quarry. The PC now has to consider what they want to do with the Town Quarry, if anything! It was agreed that Cllr Hobman to speak to Mr Batty again about putting down large stone’s in the hope of stopping people parking on this land.
e) 106 monies – nothing – All invoices now received for the Playing fields project. Clerk to sort out the 106 monies with SDC. All agreed to pay Brambledown invoice out of the contingency monies.
2010/59 Update from other meetings.
Elmet Forum – nothing
Jag meeting – nothing
CIP’s – Youth Club asked for monies but not successful.
SMPFC – Further to Estell Warren’s letter Cllr Hobman proposed that we ask the Flood Consultant to look at this issue and write a letter with his findings. Seconded Cllr Jackson. All agreed. Cllr Hobman to sort.
f) Swan Croft –Cllr Hobman updated the PC.

Planning – SDC
One No 3 bed and 2 no. 4 bed detached houses with associated garaging/covered parking to replace an existing 1970 glass/steel office building 120 High Street, South Milford. Building close to existing mature trees, are they staying? Is stand off distance between house 3 and existing dwelling to north east sufficient?
Application for a certificate of lawful development to continue use of a dwelling house in breach of agricultural occupancy condition Westholme Farm, Common Lane, South Milford. The PC ok with this on condition it remains in force for any further sale of property or any degradation of green belt.
