2007/37 MINUTES
¨ The minutes of the ordinary meeting of the Parish Council held on 17th
April 2007 had been circulated along with the Notice of Meeting. Proposed Cllr
Long seconded Cllr Smith - all agreed.

2007 / 39 New Matters Arising
a) Local Disorder
¨ Various meetings have been arranged the following will try and attend.
¨ Cllr Hobman and Long - Town and PC Forum - Sherburn in Elemet at the Eversley
Park Centre 16th May 7pm. Attended by Gary Limbert of SDC.
¨ Cllr Hobman and Upton - Elmet Forum - Church Fenton 23rd May at 7.30pm.
¨ Cllr Reilly - NYCC Unitary Authority - 2 meetings to take place one at
Riley Smith Hall 17th May and 1 at SDC Civic Centre 21st May. Speaker Cllr Mark
Crane.
¨ Cllr Jackson - JAG Meeting with the Police - Wednesday 30th May at Monk
Fryston. Clerk to put up notices on board.
b) Playing Fields
It was agreed to pay the VAT on Mike Estells invoice £166.25. Proposed
Cllr Jackson seconded Cllr Long. Clerk to raise cheque.
c) Street Matters
We received copies of e-mails between Mr Hutchinson and Derek Smith - Section
Leader Consumer Services re: Noise created by the Speed Humps on Low Street.
Clerk to contact Mr Smith and ask him to contact Mytums re: the noise from their
trucks. PC wrote various times.
A letter received from The Legal and Democratic Services SDC about the Play area at Former Canada Cottage site, South Milford asking if the PC would like to take over. Clerk wrote back to say that this is in Sherburn in Elmet not South Milford.
Cllr Smiths is in the process of finding out who owns the "Village Green" in Lumby. It has become overgrown. Whilst away on Holiday Cllr Upton will chase. If the PC own Cllr Upton will arrange for Mr Parkin to come out and cut.
A requested as been received from Edward French - Chair of the Village People asking if the PC would arrange for the weeds around the village to be sprayed. After discussion it was agreed for the Clerk to contact Mr Parkin and ask him to contact Edward and arrange. Proposed Cllr Long seconded Cllr Roe. All Agreed.
Cllr Upton reported on her personnel correspondence to Mr Paul Sheppard of NYCC re: traffic Management in Lumby. Cllr Upton willing to represent the PC in the area along with some help. All agreed.
Still waiting for a meeting to discuss A63. Clerk to contact Fairburn PC to ask if they have problems and to tag them onto South Milford's.
The Clerk to contact Paul Sheppard of NYCC re road on Westfield Lane.
Cllrs Roe and Upton to speak to Sherburn Aero Club about over flying Lumby and South Milford.
d) A1 Motorway
¨ Cllr Hobman reported that the site will return to the original condition
by the end of June 2007. Cllr Hobman to write to SDC to move it on.

The bus stop has now been removed.

The next Ordinary Meeting of the Parish Council will be held at Grove House,
Sand Lane, South Milford on Tuesday 19th June 2007 at 7.30pm. The meeting closed
at 10.10pm.
