'South Milford and The Railways'
by Chris Rule
Hard on the heels of Don Bramley's superb book of local
reminiscences,"In Them Days",comesanother
publication dealing with local history. Admittedly this is a much more
modest workof only 34 pages but it does bring together in one volume a
substantial amount of information about an aspect of Milford that has
now passed but which, until comparatively recently, played a key role
in village life. 'South Milford and The Railways' has been written by
Chris Rule and stands out from most other worked on railway history in
that it not only covers the building of local lines but sets this in its
social context. The work is generously illustrated with photographs, most
showing structures that have long since been demolished.
